Dual-core Motorola Atrix 2 quietly launches in India

For some time now, we have been hearing that Motorola will be launching its much-loved Atrix 2 handset in India. And without much fanfare, the smartphone has quietly made its way to the country and is now available at Saholic and LetsBuy for Rs. 22,990 – a steal at that price, if you ask us.

The Atrix 2 is a feature-packed phone with a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 960×540 pixels and Gorilla Glass protection. Powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, it comes equipped with 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory (expandable via microSD card), 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, HDMI port and 1785mAh battery that boasts of almost 9 hours of talk-time. Along with the VGA video-calling camera on the front, users can avail of an 8-megapixel camera on the back with autofocus, LED flash and image stabilization, as well as FullHD video recording.

The Motorola Atrix 2 runs on Google Android v2.3 Gingerbread, but will be upgradable to the new Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the future.

At its current price of Rs. 23K, its only competitors are the Samsung Galaxy R and the LG Optimus 2X, and the Atrix 2 has repeatedly been a stronger performer in several comparisons.
